Although it’s no secret that the Genre has rolled more eyes than ever in recent years, Epic Games and Iron Galaxy still insist that more blood needs to be squeezed out of the Action Royale stone. With this we have the free game Rumbleverse, which immerses its players in an extremely familiar gaming experience, sound and aimed directly at a large player base who may have found pleasure in other legendary Action Royale games such as Fall Guys or Fortnite. The art style, music, sound effects and progression systems of Rumbleverse might not seem more derivative in 2022, but it is the slightly less traveled road of a melee hearth that Rumbleverse is putting the farm on to deliver the KNOCKOUT blow it so clearly wants.

However, as mentioned earlier, Rumbleverse cannot be overestimated and seems to deliberately reproduce the appearance of its countless colleagues. The character models, environmental objects, visual effects, music, sound and even the user interface are strikingly similar to the games that players are currently trying to learn from. Depending on the Player, this may or may not seem negative, because the number of times you have personally approached this style of play is directly proportional to how much you think It is fashionable or past, but at this point, personally, I could not let go of the Rumbleverse feeling reminds me of someone who shows up at a house party at 4 in the morning, long after everyone has passed out or gone home.
Hand-to-hand action in a large Fortnite-style Action Royale environment like this can seem like a nice way to mess things up, and it can sometimes seem like that. Jumping into the mix and making others jump while they do the same thing to you is fun. And landing a perfectly timed Dropkick on an opponent who has spent the last 5 minutes terrorizing you is undeniably satisfying. but without any way to use all this space to strike enemies or accomplish many other things, the large Actionfield usually dissolves only into a series of incoherent pockets of mini-action where a few people action until a winner appears and moves on to the next micro-action.

This cycle is largely repeated until the final Action remains between the remnants and the final winner. As it would make sense, the last moments are usually made up of the best players, but other than that, there are few things that differentiate one action from the others, moreover, the increasingly narrow circle of the arena – a key feature of the Action Royale genre – hardly changes the dynamics of the game or adds a lot of urgency to the Rumbleverse action, because the players are already close to each other due to hand-to-hand action. At most, the shrunken arena forces some campers to come out of their hiding places at some point, but that’s still a bit more than an afterthought in a game where space and distance are so completely wasted. Some environmental harmful or a way to reduce distances faster could have closed this gap, but as it is, it rarely seems that more than three or four players have to worry at any given time, which makes the Action Royale format useless most of the time not.

Hand-to-hand action itself is the strongest element of the game. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as this is clearly the only area where Iron Galaxy felt the need to stand out, but for what it’s worth, it’s a pretty solid system. Wrestling-style punches, kicks, catchy combos, upward cuts, special moves and even the occasional chair or wooden plank can make these chaotic shreds extremely fun. Adding fuel to the fire are various perks that increase your maximum stamina, health, and other improvements can position some players better than others. Jumping with your head forward into Action and hoping that you have your nose forward is not a worse strategy by nature than sneaking into the background and eliminating enemies at will. I was surprised at how well I could handle just about any approach I could imagine, and that’s what you want to see in a game like this, because there seems to be room for a good selection of play styles.all of them show their skills in Solo or Duet matches of the game.
